ISA4 Spotlight: DEVANITY
Stars from TV, Broadway and The Web will come together on February 19 at ISA4: the 4th Annual Indie Soap Awards in order to celebrate and honor the very best of the rapidly-growing indie series genre. As we countdown to the big night, We Love Soaps will be spotlighting the nominated series and asking producers to tell us their favorite episode of the past year.
We continue this special ISA4 feature today with the hit drama DEVANITY, which is nominated for nine awards (tied for the most of any web series):
BEST WEB SERIES (DRAMA)
BEST ACTOR (DRAMA) - Michael Caruso
BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS (DRAMA) - Katie Caprio
BEST WRITING (DRAMA) - Michael Caruso
BEST ENSEMBLE (DRAMA)
BEST GUEST APPEARANCE (DRAMA) - Robin Riker
BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY (ALL SHOWS) - Rodolphe Portier
BEST MAKEUP (ALL SHOWS) - Liz Kan
BEST OPENING SEQUENCE (ALL SHOWS)
"My favorite episode of Season 2 would have to be Episode 4: Holly Through Your Heart," DEVANITY showrunner and star Michael Caruso (he plays Jason DeVanity) told We Love Soaps.
"Of course the catfight where the tree falls down is classic DEVANITY, but I love the scene between Byron and Jason after Byron returns. It's a really nice, quiet simple moment between two brothers which I really enjoy. We shot the entire episode in one day and it was a total blast to film. Definitely a highlight during our shoot last year."
Coincidentally, the scene with Byron just happens to be our favorite Jason DeVanity scene ever. And such a beautiful moment after all hell has just broken loose.
Watch "Holly Through Your Heart" below.
And don't miss today's DEVANITY Season 3 premiere.
