NEWS: Alison Sweeney Out as 'The Biggest Loser' Host; Plus, Freddie Smith, Molly Burnett, Spencer Neville, Jim Parsons, Marti Noxon

Longtime Days of our Lives star Alison Sweeney will no longer host The Biggest Loser
The Biggest Loser is losing one of its biggest stars. Longtime host Alison Sweeney, who joined the franchise in Season 4, is leaving after eight years.

"After an incredible run together, Alison Sweeney will not be returning as host of The Biggest Loser next season," the show said in a statement. A replacement for Sweeney has not yet been named.

Burnett (ex-Melanie), Smith (ex-Sonny) and Neville (Derrick) began work on Monday on a new film, Hiker, that also features Smith’s real-life love, Alyssa Tabit. Burnett posted on Instagram about their first day working on the film and added, “So excited for you to guys to see what’s coming.”

"I signed on to Days of our Lives for four years. I knew my contract was coming to an end and the big decision had to be made. I felt the love story was told beautifully and as an actor, I wanted to step outside of my comfort zone and pursue other avenues. When I sat down with Corday and the other producers to tell them I had decided to leave, they were so supportive and thanked me for my hard work. They even said the door was always open, which is the best compliment I could have received."

Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce and UnReal creator Marti Noxon is getting into the restaurant biz for a new series with Fox. Titled Hungry, the drama, which is in early development at the network, is an hourlong soap set in the down and dirty, cutthroat and exciting restaurant world of New York City. The series centers on a young, aspiring chef who lands the thankless job as a line cook for one of Manhattan’s most famous — and infamous — culinary stars.

The Big Bang Theory’s Jim Parsons leads the pack with a $29 million haul earned between June 1, 2014 and June 1, 2015. The contract negotiations that helped Parsons nab the top spot and co-star Johnny Galecki the second, with $27 million, also helped rocket fellow cast members Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar onto the list at $20 million each.

HBO Confirms May 25 Debut for 'The Normal Heart'

The HBO Films presentation THE NORMAL HEART is scheduled to debut SUNDAY, MAY 25 at 9:00 p.m. (ET/PT) on HBO. Starring Mark Ruffalo, Matt Bomer, Taylor Kitsch, Jim Parsons and Julia Roberts, the drama also stars Alfred Molina, Joe Mantello, Jonathan Groff, Denis O'Hare, Stephen Spinella, Corey Stoll, Finn Wittrock and BD Wong. Directed by Ryan Murphy and written by Larry Kramer, adapting his groundbreaking Tony Award-winning play of the same name, THE NORMAL HEART tells the story of the onset of the HIV-AIDS crisis in New York City in the early 1980s, taking an unflinching look at the nation's sexual politics as gay activists and their allies in the medical community fight to expose the truth about the burgeoning epidemic to a city and nation in denial.

Academy Award nominee Mark Ruffalo (The Kids Are All Right), Matt Bomer (WHITE COLLAR, GUIDING LIGHT), Taylor Kitsch (FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS), Emmy winner Jim Parsons (THE BIG BANG THEORY) and Academy Award winner Julia Roberts star in a Ryan Murphy film, HBO Films' presentation of THE NORMAL HEART.

Directed by Emmy winner Ryan Murphy (GLEE, AMERICAN HORROR STORY) and written by Academy Award nominee Larry Kramer ("Women in Love"), adapting his groundbreaking Tony Award-winning play of the same name, the drama tells the story of the onset of the HIV-AIDS crisis in New York City in the early 1980s, taking an unflinching look at the nation's sexual politics as gay activists and their allies in the medical community fight to expose the truth about the burgeoning epidemic to a city and nation in denial. THE NORMAL HEART will debut exclusively on HBO in May.
