1995: The exorcism of Days of our Lives' Marlena began.
1997: General Hospital's Monica wanted to shoot Pierce.
2001: All My Children's Anna heard her daughter's voice.
2006: Days of our Lives' Sami met EJ DiMera.

On this date in...

1938: Radio soap opera Joyce Jordan, M.D. debuted on the Mutual Network. Elspeth Eric was the original actress to play Joyce, who worked at Heights Hospital. Other cast members during the show's run included Bill Johnstone and Agnes Moorehead. Note: Three decades later Elspeth Eric appeared on The Secret Storm then joined the Another World writing team from 1969 to 1971.



1966: On Morning Star, Jan Elliott (Adrienne Ellis) insisted to Eve Blake (Floy Dean) that she was a "new Jan."

1967: On Dark Shadows, Roger (Louis Edmonds) promised to stand by Liz (Joan Bennett).

1973: On The Doctors, Carolee Simpson (Carolee Campbell) defended herself after telling Dr. Steve Aldrich (David O'Brien) about the conversation she had with his mother.

1975: On Another World, Iris (Beverlee McKinsey) was annoyed by Louise's (Anne Meacham) new-found scruples.

1984: On All My Children, Adam (David Canary) tried to dig up dirt on Langley Wallingford.



1984: On As the World Turns, Maggie Crawford (Mary Linda Rapeleye) told Frank Andropoulos there was a contract out on his life.

1984: On Capitol, Trey Clegg (Nicholas Walker) assured Sloane Denning (Debrah Farentino) they wouldn't have the type of problems in their marriage that Sloane's parents had.

1984: On The Edge of Night, after Gary Shaw (A.C. Weary) unsuccessfully tried to eliminate Jody Travis (Karrie Emerson) and Preacher Emerson (Charles Flohe), Judd arrived to finish the job.



1995: On Days of our Lives, Marlena Evans' (Deidre Hall) exorcism began.



1997: On General Hospital, Jason (Steve Burton) stopped Monica (Leslie Charleson) from killing Pierce Dorman (Tuc Watkins).



2001: On All My Children, Edmund (John Callahan) told Anna (Finola Hughes) that he went to see Robin, who gave him a box of old photos. Initially furious, Anna later accepted the pictures and learned Robin was living in Paris and attending medical school. Later, Robin arrived at Wildwind to see Edmund, who was not there. Anna heard her voice and recognized that it was her daughter. Anna watched as Robin began to walk away. Note: Anna stopped Robin from leaving and revealed herself to be alive on the next episode.

2003: The final episode of the UK's Crossroads revival aired.

2006: James Scott debuted as EJ DiMera on Days of our Lives.
