"Whoever wishes to foresee the future must consult the past; for human events ever resemble those of preceding times. This arises from the fact that they are produced by men who ever have been, and ever shall be, animated by the same passions, and thus they necessarily have the same results."
― Machiavelli

1942: NBC's Blue Network aired the final episode of radio soap opera John's Other Wife, after a five and a half year run.

1953: On Love of Life, with Beaning (Dennis Parnell) missing, a tense Meg Harper (Jean McBride) complained that her sister, Vanessa Dale (Peggy McCay), was snapping at her "like a snotty little puppy."

1979: On Guiding Light, Alan (Christopher Bernau) blamed Mike (Don Stewart) for him losing custody of Phillip to Elizabeth. Jackie (Cindy Pickett) told Phillip (Jarrod Ross) that he would be now living with his mother, and later became disgusted when Alan lied to Phillip about Mike's actions at the hearing. Elsewhere, Hillary (Marsha Clark) tells Katie (Denise Pence) how disillusioned she was when she was with Roger. Later, Phillip moved back in with Elizabeth, and Mike reassured her that he will gain Phillip's trust. After a visit from Adam Thorpe (Robert Milli), Holly (Maureen Garrett) met with a rape counselor and decided to move in Barbara (Barbara Berjer). Hillary, fearful of Roger, asked Bert (Charita Bauer) if she could stay with her. As the episode closed, Jackie learned she was pregnant with Alan's child.
