Ronnie Claire Edwards Dead at 83

Ronnie Claire Edwards, best known for her role as Corabeth Godsey in The Waltons, died on June 14. She was 83.

The announcement came from her Facebook page, which read, “Ronnie Claire passed peacefully in her sleep this evening.” An additional post stated: “Our beautiful and extraordinary friend has peacefully made her final curtain call. Thank you all for your wonderful caring and support.”

Born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on February 9, 1933​, the actress appeared in over 100 episodes of the hit series, making her first appearance on the third season. Running from 1971 to 1981, the show followed the life and trials of a Virginia mountain family during the 1930s and ’40s through financial depression and World War II.

Edwards appeared on several memorable series in her career, including Dallas, Falcon Crest, Dynasty, Designing Women, and Star Trek: The Next Generation. She reprised her role as Corabeth in several Waltons TV movies, including A Walton Wedding in 1995 and A Walton Easter in 1997.
