Ken Howard Dead at 71

Actor Ken Howard, who was the current SAG-AFTRA President, died on Wednesday, March 23. He was 71.

No cause of death has been announced for Howard, best known for his lead role of Ken Reeves in the groundbreaking CBS drama The White Shadow. Howard won both a Daytime and Primetime Emmy Award during his career.

Howard's widow Linda wrote on Instagram: "My heart is broken, but the onslaught of love and admiration for Ken are of great comfort. He was my "Big Dog" and I have experienced what real love truly is. Thank you all for your calls, emails, texts and postings. It means the world. Need to take a bit of time, but wanted everyone to know I'm okay and oh so grateful to you all."

Howard played Garrett Boydston on Dynasty and The Colbys; George Summers on The Young and the Restless; and George Andrews on Melrose Place. His numerous other credits Cane, Crossing Jordan, The Practice, It's Not Easy, The Manhunter, Adam's Rib and Murder, She Wrote.
