James Douglas Dead at 86

James Douglas
Veteran actor James Douglas passed away on March 5, 2016. He was 86.

Douglas played many memorable roles on daytime soap operas, including Grant Colman on As the World Turns, Dr. James Polk in One Life to Live, Desmond Aldrich on The Edge of Night, Philip Manning in The Doctors, and Elliott Carrington on Another World. He also starred as Steven Cord in primetime soap Peyton Place, a role he reprised in the 1985 movie, Peyton Place: The Next Generation.

Douglas' primetime credits included Spenser: For Hire, Ironside, The Bold Ones: The New Doctors and Death Valley Days. Among his film credits were A Thunder of Drums, G.I. Blues and Threshold.

A wake in his honor was held on Thursday, March 17th at the Abbey Church in Bethlehem, CT.

Douglas was proceeded in death by his wife, Dawn.

He is survived by his children, Kimberly, Taryn and Cort; his grandchildren, Marie, Suzanne, Peter, Julia, Michael and Mariah; eight great-grandchildren; the Abbey of Regina Laudis; the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist; and many dear friends and colleagues.
