1980: Edge of Night's Calvin and Star were married.
1983: GH's Luke was found after an avalanche.
1984: OLTL's Asa was not happy with Clint.
2006: Days' Bo and Hope said goodbye to Zack.

On this date in...

1968: On Dark Shadows, angry and frightened by Angelique, Barnabas attempted to meet Josette. Angelique sent a bat to spy on him. The episode was written by Sam Hall, who sued ABC one year ago this week for royalties due from his stint as head writer of One Life to Live. The lawsuit claimed he was not paid any money in 2013 when Prospect Park's One Life to Live aired online and on OWN. Sadly, Mr. Hall died on September 26, 2014.



1975: On Another World, Mac (Douglass Watson) asked Rachel (Victoria Wyndham) to marry him at Iris' (Beverlee McKinsey) party.

Mac: I want to take care of you the rest of my life."
Rachel: "Iris will never let you marry me."
Mac: "Iris has nothing to do with it. Well, don't keep me in suspense, please... Will you marry me?"
Rachel: "Yes... Oh yes!"

1980: On As the World Turns, Lisa (Eileen Fulton) scoffed when John (Larry Bryggman) told her he thought the two of them were alike.



1980: On THE EDGE OF NIGHT, Calvin Stoner (Irving Allen Lee) married Star Wilson (Yahee). Owen Madison(Bruce Gray) proposed to Deborah Saxon(Frances Fisher).



1980: On Knots Landing, running for a seat on the school board, Richard (John Pleshette) hinged his campaign on the dismissal of a high school teacher (David James Carroll) whose teaching methods were unorthodox. However, Karen (Michele Lee) set out to save her daughter's controversial teacher, who later became attracted to Karen.

1983: On General Hospital, the rescue workers found Luke's (Anthony Geary) body on the mountain, covered with snow, after the avalanche.



1984: On One Life to Live, Asa (Philip Carey) questioned Clint's (Clint Ritchie) family loyalty.



1985: On Santa Barbara, Joe (Mark Arnold) was reluctant to take a job with C.C. Lionel (Nicolas Coster) confronted Sophia (Judith McConnell) on the train about her being alive; later, the sheriff shot at him.



1986: Drake Hogestyn taped his first episode of Days of our Lives in the role of John Black.

1989: Ryan's Hope stars Helen Gallagher and Bernard Barrow appeared on Good Morning America to discuss their soap, which ended its run a few days later. On Ryan's Hope that day, Roger (Ron Hale) and Delia (Ilene Kristen) celebrated their wedding night.



1999: David Chase's The Sopranos premiered on HBO.



2006: On Days of our Lives, Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso) were devastated as they said goodbye to their young son, Zack.



2012: On One Life to Live, Starr (Kristen Alderson) revealed to Dani (Kelley Missal) that Cole (Van Hughes) was still alive. Later, James (Nic Robuck) told Starr their relationship was over.
