Michael Goldberg Talks Daytime Emmy Awards on 'BuzzWorthy Radio'
We Love Soaps' Michael Goldberg was a guest on Na'Vell Lee's "BuzzWorthy Radio" last night to discuss the Daytime Emmy nominations. Who should win? Who was snubbed? Listen to their discussion below.
I enjoy you so much. It was hard for me to not agree with you on almost all points but especially your thoughts on Victoria Rowell and Michelle Stafford (which I commented on your blog posts, on how Drucilla is important to the canvas); and how underrated Kim Matula is (yes, it is so much harder to play a good girl and that's why I like Hope on B&B.)
Here are two points I disagree with you on:
- While I do think B&B is currently the most satisfying soap on the air right now, I think the Aly story has tons of potential that is limited by a weak actress driving the story (the actress playing Aly.)
- I would be happy for any lead actress nominee to walk away with the win save Arianne Zucker. She was a supporting actress 2013 and her slot should be Maura West's.
Re: Emmy nominations: Besides West, where are nominations for Darrin Brooks (instead of Scott Clifton), Brooklyn Silzer (besides Kristen Alderson), Casey Moss (besides Chandler Massey); Kathleen Gati (besides Kelly Sullivan), Greg Vaughn (besides Steve Burton) and Anders Hove (besides Dominic Zamprogna.)
Hi Joshua, thanks for listening! I am surprised Arianne submitted herself for lead actress. I think she would have a better shot at winning in supporting to be honest, but I do see your point. I would have been thrilled to see Maura West nominated.
We ARE going to have to disagree about Ashlyn Pearce :) I find there to be something very endearing about her performance. I relate to her in a way and that DOES scare me, but I think that means she is doing her job.
