ABC Renews 'Nashville' For Full 22-Episode Season 3

ABC has finally announced the renewal of Nashville for a third season. The news was announced by Ben Sherwood, co-president of Disney ABC Television Group, at 12:36 a.m. ET.

"Congratz and welcome back for Season 3 to @Nashville_ABC," he tweeted, naming stars Connie Britton, Charles Esten, creator Callie Khouri and "the whole Nashville team and loyal fans."

According to a tweet from the show's transmedia producer, Geoffrey Colo, the show will return for a full 22-episode season. An earlier, unsourced report from Deadline.com said the network had originally requested 13 episodes, and that was one reason for prolonged negotiations.

The network had already committed to new seasons of Scandal, Grey's Anatomy, Once Upon a Time, Resurrection and Revenge.
