Thursday Night Ratings: PARENTHOOD, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES and REIGN Up

Ratings rose on Thursday night (January 23) for PARENTHOOD, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES and REIGN. Check out ratings reports from NBC and The CW below:

From NBC:
PARENTHOOD (1.3/4 in 18-49, 4.3 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m.) finished #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC in the 10 p.m. hour in adults 18-49, as well as women 18-49 and adults, men and women 18-34. PARENTHOOD grew 8% week to week (1.3 vs. 1.2), to equal its highest 18-49 rating since Oct. 3 (1.5), during the second week of the season. In total viewers, PARENTHOOD was up 7% week to week (4.252 million vs. 3.981 million) and is currently reporting the show's second-best total viewership since premiere week (virtually tying its 4.256 million of Jan. 9 and otherwise highest since 5.056 million on Sept. 26, pending updates).

· L+3 Time-Shifting: The previous week's PARENTHOOD added 73% or 0.90 of a point to its next-day L+SD 18-49 rating in L+3 results (to a 2.14 in L+3 from a 1.24 in L+SD).

From The CW:
THE VAMPIRE DIARIES returned from hiatus with its 100th episode last night (Klaroline!), and delivered the series' most watched (2.7M) episode since 11/14/13, and its best rating among W18-34 (1.7/5) since 11/14.

It was TVD's highest rating among female teens (1.9/7) and total teens (1.2/4) in nearly a year, since 2/21/13.

Versus its last original episode on 12/12/13, TVD was up 10% in total viewers, up 10% in A18-34 (1.1/4), up 21% in W18-34, up 14% in W18-49 (1.6/4), and up 36% among female teens (1.9/7).

TVD was #2 in the hour among both W18-34 and female teens, behind only American Idol on Fox, and tied for #3 in A18-34 and A18-49.

REIGN also grew versus its last original, up 13% in W18-34 (0.9/2), its best rating in that demo since 11/14/13. It was up 20% in A18-34 (0.6/2), up 17% in A18-49 (0.7/2), and up 11% in W18-49 (1.0/2).
