Telenovela "shoot" startles college in Fort Lauderdale
A car chase and gunfire inside of Fort Lauderdale's Snyder Park turned out to be a false alarm. The gunfire, shot by a film crew for Telemundo's EN OTRA PIEL, sounded authentic enough to cause officials at the nearby Nova Southeastern University's East Campus to send out a safety alert at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday.

"All clear for the gunshots that were heard in the vicinity of East Campus. It was confirmed that there is a movie being filmed," the text alert stated.

University spokeswoman Julie Spechler said the alert was sent out after someone heard the gunshots or may have seen what appeared to be police activity at the adjacent park.

"He performed like a seasoned pro on Day One. DAYS has cast a believable actor in a key role to keep a character around that's important to many people, even beyond daytime television."

Guy Wilson talks about the WilSon relationship, fan expectations and stepping into Emmy winner Chandler Massey's shoes
"You know, I wouldn’t say I was intimidated, but knowing that Chandler won those two Emmys, it shows that he created something very special. So more than a sense of intimidation, I feel a great sense of responsibility to carry that role forward. And I really feel that I have what it takes to do that, provided I work as hard as I can. So there was never a sense of anxiety or intimidation, and I certainly don’t feel a need to measure up in terms of accolades or awards — certainly, those are always very exciting, but to me what matters most is just portraying the truthfulness behind the story of Will and Sonny."

Tika Sumpter enjoying her ‘ride’ to the top
Tika takes the comparisons between THE HAVES AND THE HAVE NOTS and TV’s runaway hit SCANDAL in stride. “I think that Kerry Washington and Ms. Shonda [Rhimes], they definitely opened it up where people are like, ‘Good…we wanna see something else!’ And I’m just grateful to them for that,” said Tika who isn’t taking her opportunities for granted. “There are many shows on major networks that get canceled all the time and on cable as well. I think cable opened it up, but you never know as an actor and I’m just grateful that we have a great following and fans love it and they want more. So I’m excited for everybody to finally get their fill.”
