  1. I no longer subscribe to cable, hopefully someone can at least post the highlights somewhere online because this looks interesting.
I'm still waiting however for that comprehensive Ken Burnsian type documentary on the history of the daytime soap opera. I think fans of the genre do deserve a comprehensive multi-episode type film that goes in depth from the history and its creators, to the heyday and Golden Ages, through the crisis of cancellations to the somewhat uncertain future on network TV.

  2. I just screened this and I'm pretty happy with it. I think fans will enjoy it and it tells a clear story over the hour.

I know they did shoot a lot of additional footage so maybe there will be future editions of this someday. We can hope.

  3. It feels like though that a documentary like this is two years late. The four remaining soaps doing so great at the moment that I think it may just be not the right time. Of course it's something that openly needs to be discussed. But like I said, two years ago would have been great. At least we can say that the documentary is not about "The day the daytime soaps died", but more a shocking time that found it's beginning and happily it's end. Well at least for now.

  4. This Doc looks really good and I am very upset that my cable company does not include TVGN in it's lineup. I hope this show will be available elsewhere somehow. I am hoping that with SoapNet's finale that Cablevision will pick up TVGN.
