Prospect Park has not sent out a formal announcement about the end of ALL MY CHILDREN but actress Debbi Morgan tweeted the news over the weekend.
"My manager ws given the news that we were officially done by PP's lawyer," she wrote. "I guess what really hurts my gut R all the positive proclamations I gave 2 all of U that we'd definitely [be] coming back. Bcuz those were the earnest proclamations we'd been given! I'm so very sorry2 2c U disappointed yet again & believe me we feel the same!!! Thanks 4 all the support & luv U gave hoping this would work. We never know what's in God's plan. I do know there's always a bigger picture! Thanks For The Memories..."
I don't think there was ever a formal announcement coming.
ReplyDeleteMakes Me Sick.. Theres N0thing BuT Trash 0N Daytime TV Any More... The Chew..OMG Awful Show & The Talk Equally Stupid.. All My Children Was The Best..... Im Really Going T0 Miss It(
ReplyDeleteMe too it's heartbreaking!!!!!!
DeleteTotally agree!
DeleteHurts worse to lose it a second time, but I like your attitude, Debbi. God bless.
ReplyDeleteABC should bring back both shows---think of the revenue! They should never have cancelled them in the first place. They'd be doing themselves and their audience a huge favor: to admit they were wrong.
ReplyDeleteSure, right. That would be like NBC admitting they were wrong to cancel Another World. They wouldn't admit that in a million, and I'm not holding my breath. It would be a massive shock for any of the networks to bring back any of the soaps they've cancelled.
DeleteThis is ridiculous. Prospect Park owns the rights to the All My Children and One Life to Live characters. ABC is not allowed to mention these characters on General Hospital. Roger Howarth, Kristen Alderson and Michael Easton were forced to stop portraying their One Life to Live characters on General Hospital, and are now portraying different characters. Well, Prospect Park has cancelled All My Children and One Life to Live. It's time for Prospect Park to give back to ABC the rights to these characters, so that they can appear o
ReplyDeleteI agree!!! I miss my shows!!!
DeleteSad to here, but I'm not surprised. Prospect Park didn't make good on their promises to continue with the show to begin with and they didn't make good on their promises this time around either.
ReplyDeleteI want both of Agnes Nixon's shows back. I miss hem!
ReplyDeleteIt is so sad, PP Got our hopes up and let us all down... I am sorry to all the cast members. I enjoyed you all for 30 years, you all will be sadly missed...
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts EXACTLY!
ReplyDeleteSo very sorry to hear this1 We love all of you! Good luck in your future plans!!
ReplyDeleteI was really enjoying the new format. Would rather have the "real" AMC, but the new one was pretty good. I will miss this show until the day I die. It has been my favorite show since it came on.
ReplyDeleteI am speechless and heartbroken for all of you and for us FANS
ReplyDeleteNot surprised because there has been no news of a re-start this year but a real shame because the new shows were really off to good start...and would have grown if they had continued.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you soccermom. The shows may not have been identical to their terrestrial antecedents but I think they were pretty promising. AMC, in particular rivaled any of the network daytime soaps in terms of dramatic content.
ReplyDeleteOh well, if the daytime model is not sustainable, it just isn't, I guess.
It probably would have been better had PP made the announcement themselves but that's just splitting hairs at this moment. The main thing is the shows are done. At least there was one more season.
Some of the actors really should submit themselves for Emmys, though. And so should the hair and makeup people, they really did great work!
Good luck to them all.
I was certainly entertained for the time they were online.
All I can say is that I'm jealous of the soap fans that still have GH, Days ... etc. I am truly heartbroken by this. ABC murdered 80+ years of soap history and then gave PP an impossible situation. Nothing ABC / Disney will EVER be a part of our lives after this. Thanks for saving us mega-thousands for a trip to Disney World. When you promptly cancelled the best shows on tv, we promptly cancelled out reservations. You have put numerous and wonderful actors out of work and broken the hearts of millions of fans. I attempted GH and got into it for a time, but you had to go pimp Katie Courtniche and The Spew! You turned out beloved OLTL characters into crap, John McBain 4 times! I hope to live to see ABC sink like the titanic. I only blame PP for not giving us something ... a whisper. I have been faithful to OLTL since 1991 and the Billy Douglas storyline dealing with homophobia literally saved my life. I know the beautiful Erika Slezak did the same for countless others with her cancer, heart transplant stories. You want reality ... THAT's reality!! Someone please, don't let these soaps with another 80 years potential die this way. Losing them is like losing a family member. Most shows only last so many seasons. These are shows handed down to us from generations. Don't give up! Where the hell is Oprah btw? Sell that purse woman!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry my shows won't be back I refuse to watch any thing on tv that took there place
ReplyDeleteI am shocked and saddened you guys won't be coming Back ,As a fan of both shows, It hurts . I enjoyed both shows online Loved all the storylines ,"It felt good to see your favorite families and villians Back in action. I also Loved the New Generation and was welcoming them into my life and Enjoying It with a smile and Happy to have History Back . you guys need to come to a agreement and give us fans what we cherish." These Shows are not a toy They have been around Thru generations. Look at all the support that came with the shows and Love the fans Gave .Wow
ReplyDeleteBless you, Debbi, for being straight with us. I am heartbroken at losing AMC again. I hope to see you again, and maybe even Angie. I will never give up hope. Maybe ABC will realize what idiots they were, and make it right.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to see the end of AMC. I was a cameraman on "children" for 30 years, and loved doing it. I have wonderful memories of a great cast and crew and I miss that special bond, we were a family. A great series has ended but will never be forgotten. So sad.
ReplyDeleteThorsten Kaye signed onto B&B for a contract role just last week. Even with no official announcement from PP...the writing was on the wall. I enjoyed the new format. It wasn't great but it was solid. I enjoyed the new story lines and accepted that things were different but it did give all of us fans hope for the future. I am not convinced that things are truly over...Who knows if PP is working with OWN right now trying to hammer out a deal to continue these productions? Think about it for a minute...The new OLTL & AMC were highly rated on HULU. There is still a dedicated audience and there had to be some profitability. Maybe I have been too well trained by soap writers ...Nothing or no one is ever really dead in the soap world...(except for maybe Diana Taylor but if anyone can find a way to raise her from the dead, R.C. probably could figure out a halfway plausible way)..My point is that maybe...just maybe...No news (from PP) is good news on some level...Tune in tomorrow...
ReplyDeleteI would like to say that my best friend and I use to call each other in the evening and talk about what was going on in PINEVALLY AND LANDVIEW up to when they signed off tv for the last time. My friend passed away about 1 week after OneLife to Live went off the air. I felt like I lost my best twice , and when they came back on HULU I would watch them and I felt like we were back in time when i would talk to him about what is going on. I feel like I have had my friend taken away from me again. I am now watching the CBS Soaps becouse alot of the people who were on AMC is on there now. I just hope that they do not try to bring them back in any way shape or form. I would like to think that there was another tornado hit the towns and whyped them off the face of the earth and the people there are now in other towns and states.
ReplyDeleteThanks to all the People who were on the shows in fromt of the camera and behind it to make it a show to remember for ever in our minds and hearts.
Best thing that ever happened. She is definitely past her prime and she is really low. She turned her back on her best friend in ways fans couldn't imagine. Her family even turned on her.
