vigil honoring Macy was held on B&B.

On this date in...

1958: Australia's first television soap opera, AUTUMN AFFAIR, premiered. It would be canceled less than a year later.

1979: On AS THE WORLD TURNS, John showed up at Kim's as Betsy and her friends were playing loud music and drinking wine.



1980: On THE EDGE OF NIGHT, Raven (Sharon Gabet) crashed April and Draper's party and slapped Logan.



1985: On RYAN'S HOPE, Siobhan Ryan (Marg Helgenberger) married Max DuBujak (Daniel Pilon).



1986: On GENERAL HOSPITAL, Robert (Tristan Rogers) asked Anna (Finola Hughes) to spend a weekend with Duke to see if she still felt she could trust him with Robin.



1986: On DAYS OF OUR LIVES, Pete (Michael Leon), Amy (Elizabeth Keifer) and Tod (David Wallace) tried to help Melissa when she got sick (Lisa Trusel).



1988: On ANOTHER WORLD, Felicia Gallant (Linda Dano) married Mitch Blake (William Gray Espy) at the racetrack.



1988: On GUIDING LIGHT, Rick Bauer (Michael O'Leary) married Meredith Reade (Nicolette Goulet).



1991: On THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS, Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) visited Lauren (Tracey E. Bregman) to try to find out what Molly told Lauren during their visit.

1994: Actor Raul Julia died at age 54. He played Miguel Garcia in LOVE OF LIFE early in his career.

1998: Norwegian soap opera HOTEL CAESAR premiered. It was created by Swedish duo Peter Emanuel Falck and Christian Wikander.

2003: On THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS, Lily asked Drucilla (Victoria Rowell) not to tell Neil that the had sex with Kevin (Greg Rikaart).



2003: On THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL, Nick (Jack Wagner) wanted Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) to forget they ever had sex now that Ridge (Ronn Moss) had returned. Sally (Darlene Conley) was moved that so many fans turned out for a candlelight service for Macy.



2006: Future GLEE star Matthew Morrison debuted as Adam (Hughes) Munson on AS THE WORLD TURNS. He would leave in late November due to a "scheduling conflict" and was replaced by Matt Cavenaugh.

2007: Farah Fath debuted as Gigi Morasco in ONE LIFE TO LIVE.

  2. I love the Edge of Night from this period, although I didn't see many of them. I'm a bit clueless about who is the puppet killer - and I love it! But tell me: Did EoN have the most gay male actors on its cast of any soap opera?

  3. I also love this period of Edge of Night. Sharon Gabet's Raven Alexander still remains one my favorite characters of any soap.
