GENERAL HOSPITAL's Carolyn Hennesy Joins Indie Series ACTING DEAD

GENERAL HOSPITAL actress Carolyn Hennesy, who plays Diane Miller on the long-running daytime soap opera, is the latest star to be cast in the upcoming semi-dark, zombie-comedy, ACTING DEAD. Set in the world of Hollywood, ACTING DEAD is an independent television series from award-winning New Media producers Brian Beacock and Susan Bernhardt.

"I've know Carolyn for quite some time now, and have always been a big fan of her work," said Bernhardt. "She has the perfect combination of wit and fierce glamour for this integral role in the story."

Hennesy is set to guest star as Dr. Ivana Wurshter, the mysterious woman behind the zombie-actor production company, Flatline Inc.

"Carolyn is incredibly funny, quick on her feet and will be amazing in this role," Creator and star Brian Beacock added. "She's got the sex appeal, the comedic chops and an air of mystery and playful danger that's going to make Dr. Wurshter such a memorable character."

Hennesy joins previously announced stars from the world of soaps including ACTING DEAD lead Jillian Clare (ex-Abigail, DAYS OF OUR LIVES), co-star Patrika Darbo (Nancy, DAYS), and guest stars Eric Martsolf (Brady, DAYS) and John J. York (Mac, GENERAL HOSPITAL).

Hennesy also appears regularly on Disney's JESSIE as Mrs. Rhoda Chesterfield alongside ACTING DEAD series regular Chris Galya, the on again-off again boyfriend of the title character.

She played Rosalyn Harris in the fifth season of HBO's TRUE BLOOD.

ACTING DEAD begins production on October 12th and will be shooting an eight episode first season with plans to initially air online. Funny, quirky and weird, ACTING DEAD is smart with an appetite for sarcasm and satire, and has been described by producers as ARRESTED DEVELOPMENTS meets Shaun of the Dead with an occasional shout out to Romero. It's so ridiculous you're sure to have the time of your afterlife.

The Zombie series has just over two weeks left on their crowd funding campaign, but still needs help, with perks beginning at just $4.00. To join the ACTING DEAD crowd funding campaign team, or learn more about the show, visit http://igg.me/at/ad.

  1. I agree Miss Hennesy is an excellent actress giving the performance in 1974 the antichrist if she is the same person. From looking at General Hospital also I have no doubt of her work and strongly feels the series Acting Dead would be a great hit.
