Larkin Malloy Joins TAINTED DREAMS

One of Daytime television's most popular leading men in the 1980s, Larkin Malloy is joining the all-star cast of TAINTED DREAMS. The actor, best known for his roles as Sky Whitney in THE EDGE OF NIGHT, Travis Montgomery on ALL MY CHILDREN and Kyle Sampson in GUIDING LIGHT, will play the role of Henry Steinman, a director of PAINTED DREAMS (TAINTED DREAMS' soap within the soap.) He was named to our 50 Greatest Soap Actors list in 2010.

According to executive producer, Sonia Blangiardo, "Henry Steinman is the most politically incorrect director in the history of Daytime…truly the Archie Bunker of the soap genre. Whatever crosses Henry’s mind comes out of his mouth…in the most inappropriate way possible."

"Before you ask, yes, Larkin and I may have known a real-life director who might allegedly fit this description," Blangiardo adds with a grin.

TAINTED DREAMS follows senior producer of the show PAINTED DREAMS, Angelica (Alicia Minshew), as she navigates the craziness of running a daily soap opera. Blangiardo promises "TAINTED DREAMS proves the drama behind the drama is the real drama."

Malloy joins what Blangiardo has begun to refer to as her 'dream team' which includes Alicia Minshew (ALL MY CHILDREN), Terri Ivens (ALL MY CHILDREN), Grant Aleksander (GUIDING LIGHT), Kelley Menighan Hensley (AS THE WORLD TURNS), Walt Willey (ALL MY CHILDREN), Marnie Schulenburg (AS THE WORLD TURNS), Michael Lowry (ALL MY CHILDREN), Austin Peck (DAYS OF OUR LIVES), Colleen Zenk (AS THE WORLD TURNS), Natalia Livingston (GENERAL HOSPITAL), Dina Manzo (DINA'S PARTY and REAL HOUSEWIVES OF NEW JERSEY), Anthony Wilkinson ("My Big Gay Italian Wedding" and the new "My Big Gay Italian Funeral), Lisa Marie Varon (IMPACT WRESTLING) and “Mr. PEC-Tacular” Jessie Godderz (IMPACT WRESTLING and Big Brother).

Malloy, who is one of NYC’s most successful and sought after acting teachers and private coaches, has played a variety of soap roles including: Dr. Weston, AS THE WORLD TURNS (2002); Travis Montgomery, ALL MY CHILDREN (1987-1992, 1997, 1998, 2001); Clay Alden, LOVING (1992); Kyle Sampson, GUIDING LIGHT (1984-1987); SEARCH FOR TOMORROW (appeared in final episode); and the dual roles of Schuyler Whitney and Jefferson Brown, THE EDGE OF NIGHT (1980-1984). After directing at NBC-TV's ANOTHER WORLD, Malloy became the on-site acting coach at CBS-TV's AS THE WORLD TURNS for seven years. Nine of his actors at ATWT were nominated for Best Acting Emmys during this time.

Malloy has taught the on-camera acting class at the Weist-Barron School, and he is on the faculty of The New York Conservatory for the Dramatic Arts as well as teaching the Intermediate and Master Acting classes during the inaugural year at Greystone Studios. He has been hired to teach at the prestigious Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute. Malloy has been selected to study with some of with the most renowned teachers in the world including Anatoly Efros at Moscow’s Tangaka Theatre (Stanislavsky Method), Wynn Handman’s Master Acting Program, Ron Daniels of the Royal Shakespeare Company, John Stix (Meisner), Gene Lasko etc. He has appeared on network episodic series and feature films, narrated for National Geographic TV, served as the announcer at As the World Turns and can be seen and heard in many commercial TV and radio spots.

TAINTED DREAMS begins filming in and around NYC July 29.
