Blake Jenner & Melissa Benoist Engaged: GLEE Costars Set to Tie the Knot
The pair only recently publicly acknowledged their relationship during a Twitter chat with ET Canada, during which a fan asked Blake if the costars were an item off-screen, to which the shaggy-haired actor replied with a simple "yup" and a smiley face.

B&B is seeking to cast a role that sounds a lot like Ridge Forrester. "Harper" is described as a Caucasian man in his mid-to-late 40s. The casting call reads: "Handsome! Very upscale. Great business man. A commanding presence. Refined – comes from money. At least 5’11”. Contract role - Strong Credits only!!" The role of Ridge was played by Ronn Moss from 1987-2012.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Ronn Moss is 61 so the age on this casting call doesn't match up with that, but characters are suddenly older and younger on daytime soaps all the time.

The Long Ranger's William Fichtner on landing a job on AS THE WORLD TURNS in the 1980s
"Soaps were very different in New York. If you were an actor and you were doing theater in New York, let me tell you something, if you got an arc for a month or two on a soap, it was a great day because you sure weren’t making any money in the theater! So soaps in New York would get really good actors. I remember when I was doing AS THE WORLD TURNS Julianne Moore was on the show. Steven Weber had just left the show when I was coming on the show. Elizabeth Hubbard, Larry Bryggman, Parker Posey, they were just really, really interesting actors. So when the job came up for me, when I got offered the role of Rod Landry on AS THE WORLD TURNS the same day that I got that I got offered a regional theater production in Portland, ME. I gotta tell you something, it was a tough call whether I should do this play, this Lanford Wilson play that I wanted to do for so long, or to go into this whole different financial sort of thing. I thought, 'Oh man, what do I do with this?'

"So I chose to go, obviously, with AS THE WORLD TURNS, and it was tough. It was tough because I just wanted… I was looking for something else in my career, not necessarily to be on a soap, but I will tell you this – and the important thing about why I’m talking about this so long-windedly – is this: being on AS THE WORLD TURNS, and being in front of that camera every day for hours and hours, those first six, seven months I swear that boom could have picked up my heartbeat. It was nerve-wracking! I’d never really been in front of a camera. But I remember those days fondly, because by the time I left there, after two years, it’s not like I was comfortable, like 'lazy' in front of a camera, I just felt comfortable 'being' in front of it, where I could focus more. I thank AS THE WORLD TURNS for that experience and getting me that sort of confidence in front of a camera."

Gaby Hoffman story in New York Times Magazine: The Chelsea Hotel Had Its Own Eloise
Hoffmann’s father, Anthony Herrera (James Stenbeck, AS THE WORLD TURNS) was never really a part of Hoffmann’s life; she doesn’t remember meeting him until she was 5. She does remember that she found him intimidating and never liked spending time with him.

Not everyone is good with kids. In fact, if you don't have one and aren't used to intereacting with them, a conversation with a random child can end up feeling awkward. “I absolutely love what I do," Linder said in a recent interview, "and I’m excited to be able to do it all. You never know what’s going to happen when you wake up that morning. When I get that script, it's 'oh my gosh,' and you had no idea. It’s great and the character has grown and changed, and we go through different transitions.”

“It’s a huge loss for not only the show, but for me personally," Linder added, on the passing of Jeanne Cooper. "We will go forward with the show and with her memory and continue making it the best it can be."

Comic-Con 2013: DOCTOR WHO executive producer Steven Moffat talks about the 'terrifying' search for a new Time Lord
So how goes the search for the next Doctor? “Well, it’s always just terrifying,” says DOCTOR WHO executive producer Steven Moffat, who recruited Smith to replace his predecessor, David Tennant, back in late 2008. “If you’re a DOCTOR WHO fan, as I have been all my life, you’ve been doing fantasy casting for this part for as long as you can remember. But when you’re suddenly faced with the reality that you are going to sit there and you are going to make that decision it does feel absolutely chilling. There’s a very big range of people who could play it and different ways you could go with it. We must get this right. One false move and the show’s over.”

DRACULA scoop: NBC's new series teams the titular vamp with ... Van Helsing!
Says executive producer Tony Krantz (24), “We’ve made a number of alterations with regard to the classic Dracula.” One of the biggest twists? In this new take, which premieres Oct. 25 at 10 p.m., Dracula works alongside Van Helsing (played by THE RIVER's Thomas Kretschmann). “In our tale, Dracula and Van Helsing are actually partners,” reveals Krantz. “They’ve partnered up to fight a bigger bad, which is called The Order of the Dragon, a secret organization. This is an order of right-wing zealots who cursed Dracula and turned him into a vampire years ago. We flash forward to today to Victorian England where Dracula has assumed the alter ego of an American inventor by the name of Alexander Grayson. He has come to England to essentially avenge the fact that he was turned into a monster years ago.”
