Emmy-winning actress Maura West has joined the cast of GENERAL HOSPITAL in the newly created role of Ava Jerome, according to Soap Opera Digest. "I'm thrilled! Happy actress!" West responded on Twitter after the news was revealed.
She is already on set taping and will debut in May.
West won two Daytime Emmy Awards and received six other nominations while playing Carly Tenney in AS THE WORLD TURNS from 1995-2010. After ATWT was canceled, she moved over to THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS and played Diane Jenkins from 2010-2011.

ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for this! When ATWT really hit the skids, it was West who kept me watching. She's one of those rare actors who can really elevate material, a la Erika Slezak. She'll be a huge asset to GH.
