On this date in...

1945: NBC Radio premiered radio soap opera BARRY CAMERON. Spencer Bentley starred as Barry Cameron, a veteran returning from three years of war. Richard Leonard and Peggy Blake were the the writers of the 15-minute show which lasted until October 11, 1946.

1975: On ANOTHER WORLD, Dave told Alice (Jacqueline Courtney) they have a ten-year-old girl in the emergency room whose parents, "Peter R. (35) and Janet (27) Spencer," were just killed in a car crash on Route 43. A month later, Alice began thinking about adopting the girl, Sally Spencer.

1980: On THE EDGE OF NIGHT, Raven (Sharon Gabet) was furious to find Calvin and Star babysitting Jamey.



1985: On AS THE WORLD TURNS, Don (Conard Fowkes) and Penny (Rosemary Prinz) toasted Bob and Kim at their wedding reception.



1987: On DAYS OF OUR LIVES, Calliope's dog, Martha, married Reggie, the dog that got her pregnant.



1991: On ONE LIFE TO LIVE, Bo (Robert S. Woods) wondered what Jessica was doing in the woods.

1993: On ALL MY CHILDREN, Kendall (Sarah Michelle Gellar) blurted out to Myrtle that Erica was her mother.



1993: Miriam Parrish debuted as Jamie Caldwell in DAYS OF OUR LIVES.

  1. I used to love those snapshot credits with musical accompaniment that As The World Turns did. It made each occasion feel special. And weddings used to be special occasions on soaps. Now? To sneeze is to have a wedding on today's soaps. ATWT had such a strong cast that year! Tonya Lee Pinkins, Marissa Tomei, Julianne Moore and all the beloved vets? Wow!
    I saw in the credits that C.B. Barnes once played Paul Stenbeck? The guy from the Brady Bunch movies in the '90s?! I don't remember that, I'd love to see clips of him playing lil Paul. Does anyone know what Meredith Post is doing these days?

  2. There are some clips of CBB as Paul around. Jesse Soffer was Bobby in those movies so two of the Bradys played Barbara's sons. LOL
