NEWS: AMC/OLTL Return, B&B Hot Guys Fashion Show, Julianna Margulies Talks GOOD WIFE Finale, Jake Silbermann's "Type", Drake Hogestyn Selling Home

Huffington Post's Chris Harnick covers The Soaps Return: "ALL MY CHILDREN & ONE LIFE TO LIVE Stars On The Miraculous Revival"
"It's no longer daytime -- it's anytime now," ALL MY CHILDREN star Jill Larson (Opal Cortlandt to soap fans) said. "I walk into the restaurant and see everyone sitting with their phone ... I don't think it's going to be that big of a jump."

"I enjoy holding a grudge. I carry grudges like excess baggage," Robin Strasser, who plays Dorian Lord on ONE LIFE TO LIVE, said. "OK, I'm not wishing personal or family harm, but a badass mistake was made that shot down a lot of jobs, careers and two fabulous shows. If, at some point, they own their mistake or karma's a bitch and comes around, then so be it. At least I'm sane enough to know I'm not in charge of that."

USA Today's Gary Levin: "Old soap operas bubble up online"
"People say, 'How does that make you feel?'" Agnes Nixon says. "It makes me feel like the planet's oldest person." But she's grateful that both series were "rescued" after ABC dumped AMC in September 2011 and OLTL four months later, after more than 40 years, due to low ratings.

Soap star Drake Hogestyn lists Malibu home at $5 million
The Tuscan-style two-story, built in 2002, features wood-beam ceilings, French doors, hardwood floors, decks and balconies. There are fireplaces in the living room, family room and master suite of the 6,616-square-foot house, which has a total of five bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms. The grounds of about an acre include a circular driveway, a swimming pool, sycamore trees, fruit trees and an herb garden. The property was purchased in 2003 for $2.9 million, public records show.

DANCING WITH THE STARS pro (and GENERAL HOSPITAL guest star) Maks Chmerkovskiy injured, in 'excruciating pain'
"He has a pain in his ankle and in his back," his brother, Val, said. "It’s embarrassing to say but I think he has a bunion issue. It’s an extreme situation where it’s growing into (something) that’s causing him excruciating pain. That’s what he’s got along with the whole ankle thing."

SPOILER: Caroline's Next Crazy Move on THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL
"I know a lot of the fans find it strange but I've decided this is the way Caroline has always been — a real pain in the ass," Linsey Godfrey tells TV Guide Magazine. "When she first came to town a year ago, she was sweet as pie and pretty vanilla. She literally had no opinions about anything! But that was all an act. The truth is, she's a bitch...but a very funny one."

"Caroline decides to throw a fashion-show fundraiser for cancer research to prove she's still the good person Rick fell in love with," Godfrey says. "To make sure there's lots of eye candy on the runaway, she gets all our hot guys to take off their shirts and model bedroom wear. I felt so bad for the actors. They had to be in great shape, so they couldn't eat for a week!"

Julianna Margulies On The 'Brilliant' GOOD WIFE Season 4 Finale, Alicia's Growth And More
"I'm very torn ... There are so many reasons why not to be with [Peter] and so many reasons to be with him. This past season, the way they've written him and the way Chris has played him is in a much different light than when we first meet him. What I love about it is the quality of human heart and the capacity to grow and change. It's the luxury of doing television. If it was a movie, she wouldn't end up with him."

Jake Silbermann blogs on Huffington Post: "Just My Type"
On being asked "Are you gay?" after he began playing Noah Mayer on AS THE WORLD TURNS: "Given the role and its historic nature, I understood peoples' natural curiosity, but there also seemed to be a need to contextualize my work, as though it was more challenging for me, as a straight man, to play a character in love with another man. My response was always to remind them that any credible love scene between two strangers is difficult, male or female. Once that subject was dealt with, it was often followed by a second question, one I was much less comfortable responding to at the time: 'Are you afraid of being type cast as gay?'"

  3. Great article from Jake! Thanks for sharing. I'm glad to hear he's playing a gay role again.

He and Van were not soap's first gay couple, although I agree they were a "super couple."
