THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS 40th Anniversary Cast Photo

To celebrate the show's upcoming 40th anniversary, THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS took a new cast photo recently.

In case you missed it, check out a behind the scenes video from the photo shoot below.

UPDATE:
The cast photo we originally posted is below. We quickly replaced it with the one above after finding a higher resolution image. It wasn't until reading your comments that we realized that they were not exactly the same. In the video, Stephen Nichols is clearly in the same position as this picture.

Front Row: Kristoff St. John (Neil Winters), Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Newman), Peter Bergman (Jack Abbott), Jeanne Cooper (Katherine Chancellor), Eric Braeden (Victor Newman), Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki Newman), Joshua Morrow (Nick Newman), Amelia Heinle (Victoria Newman Abbott), Billy Miller (Billy Abbott)

Second Row: Marcy Rylan (Abby Newman), Angell Conwell (Leslie Michaelson), Bryton James (Devon Hamilton), Tracey E. Bregman (Lauren Fenmore Baldwin), Christian LeBlanc (Michael Baldwin), Lauralee Bell (Christine Blair), Doug Davidson (Paul Williams), Sharon Case (Sharon Newman), Michael Muhney (Adam Newman), Jessica Collins (Avery Bailey Clark), Stephen Nichols (Tucker McCall), Jerry Douglas (John Abbott)

Third Row: Lamon Archey (Mason Wilder), Judith Chapman (Gloria Bardwell), Elizabeth Hendrickson (Chloe Mitchell), Greg Rikaart (Kevin Fisher), Christel Khalil (Lily Winters), Steve Burton (Dylan McAvoy), Robert Adamson (Noah Newman), Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea Lawson Newman), Redaric Williams (Tyler Michaelson), Hunter King (Summer Newman), Jess Walton (Jill Foster Abbott)

Back Row: Ted Shackelford (William Bardwell), Blake Hood (Kyle Abbott), Jessica Heap (Eden Baldwin), Daniel Goddard (Cane Ashby), Ignacio Serricchio (Alex Chavez), Kate Linder (Esther Valentine), Marco Dapper (Carmine Basco), Max Ehrich (Fen)

  1. Beautiful picture. I just hope Jess Walton's poor placement doesn't tell us what Y&R thinks about Jill.

  2. JW isn't nearly as bad as the fact that they cut Steve Burton's head and placed it on Stephen Nichol's body!!!! At least the credit has SN - it is mostly him, anyway.

    Tackiest move ever, Y&R!!!!!

  3. I don't see Stephen Nichols anywhere in the photo.

I do, however, see Steve Burton in the second row, not the third row. He's standing beside Jessica Collins.

  4. there is another picture with Stephen Nichols. He is standing where Steve Burton is. I'm wondering if Jess Walton was photo shop in because how is she in the 3rd row.

  5. No, you don't see Stephen Nichols head, because Steve Burton's head has been PHOTOSHOPPED in! The body is still SN's. If you watch the video, the person in the second row is Stephen Nichols. After he was replaced with Steve Burton (although they still deny he was), Y&R cut out SN's head and replaced with with Steve Burton. Totally tacky and a spit in the face to Stephen Nichols fans.

  6. Kristoff's right about how long it's been. I don't think they've had an official, staged, cast photo since about 2007.

  7. I wonder how Steve Burton feels about his head being slapped on Stephen Nichols' body? Classy move Y&R, classy move.

  8. Classless and totally disrepectful to have photo shopped Steve Burton's head onto Stephen Nichols body. Certainly one of the WTH moments for sure!

  9. SHAMELESS, at least Jerry Douglas is included. Will the official photo had Marcy Rylan Replaced with her replacement?

  10. Video is fun. And Stephen Nichols is clearly there enjoying himself.

But when was this cast photo staged?

Stephen Nichols has been off the air since beginning of February, so his last tape date was probably Jan. 10 or so.

  11. @James - I believe the photo was staged December 21, 2012. In his newsletter with that same date, Nelson Branco reported that it was happening, and in doing so, he used the word "today."

Also, one can tell that they also had to go with stand-ins for both Haley King (Summer) and Jess Walton (Jill) as well. Look closely in the video and there are two similarly-clothed women in their places on the risers in certain shots, yet then these two "models" are standing off to the sidelines during others (e.g. during the balloon drop).

  12. That’s so weird! Why not just leave Stephen Nichols in the photo!
