Corbin Bleu Joins ONE LIFE TO LIVE

The Online Network announced today that actor and musician, Corbin Bleu, best known for this role as Chad Danforth in the popular Disney film franchise, High School Musical, will join the cast of the beloved serial drama ONE LIFE TO LIVE, set to debut on Monday, April 29. Bleu will join the series as Jeffrey King, friend of Matthew Buchanan (Robert Gorrie) and Danielle Manning (Kelley Missal), a brilliant young reporter who moves to Llanview to work for publisher, Victoria Lord (Erica Slezak) at Llanview’s newspaper, The Banner.

Bleu starred in the Emmy-award winning Disney Channel Original Movie High School Musical and its sequel, High School Musical 2 alongside Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, and Ashley Tisdale. He then reprised his role as 'Chad' in High School Musical 3: Senior Year on the big screen.

Bleu's first leading film role was in Bart Freundlich's Catch That Kid, opposite Kristen Stewart and Max Thieriot. Other film credits include Paul W.S. Anderson's Soldier, Dean Parisot's Galaxy Quest, Kinka Usher's Mystery Men and William Dear's Free Style, which Bleu also produced. Bleu can next be seen in Nurse 3-D which will be released by Lionsgate Films later this year. Most recently Bleu starred on Broadway as ‘Jesus’ in a revival of Broadway musical “Godspell.” This was his second leading role on Broadway following his rave-reviewed performance as Bodega owner Usnavi in the critically acclaimed musical, "In The Heights.”

On the small screen, Bleu starred in the smash hit Disney Channel Original Movie Jump In!. Bleu's other television credits include the Discovery Kids/NBC series FLIGHT 29 DOWN, THE BEAUTIFUL LIFE, BLUE BLOODS, THE GOOD WIFE, HANNAH MONTANA, ER, THE AMANDA SHOW, COVER ME and MALCOLM & EDDIE

In an announcement earlier this year, Prospect Park’s The Online Network revealed its plans to re-introduce the beloved franchise, through a groundbreaking content deal that will bring premium first-run, broadcast-quality programming to a mass market audience via the Internet. Brand new 30-minute episodes of ONE LIFE TO LIVE will be launched each weekday and available to stream online via the free Hulu.com service and to subscribers of Hulu Plus making these venerable dramas available in a new format that suits the viewing habits of the digital generation. In addition, the iTunes Store will offer both series via iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Apple TV and Mac or PC.

  2. Good to see Corbin get more work... He was also 'Usnavi' for several performances of "In The Heights" on Broadway; Corbin might not have been Lin-Manuel Miranda (the original Usnavi and the creator of "In The Heights") but from what few clippies I saw on the web, he did a really good job trying. Good luck to Corbin on OLTL.

    Hope Prospect Park isn't over-extending themselves on costs before they even get their shows going....
