The 2012-2013 Daytime Emmy Awards Rules and Procedures were released on Monday along with a calendar of key dates and notable changes to the process.CALENDAR
January 14, 2013: Entry Deadline (online paperwork and payment only)
January 18, 2013: Deadline for Drama Performer Judges to Register
January 25, 2013: Deadline for Drama Performer Pre-Nom Clip Submissions
January 30, 2013: Deadline for all other Judges to Register
January 30, 2013: Drama Performer Pre-Nomination Judging Begins
February 4, 2013: DVD Submissions Due
February 11, 2013: Preliminary Round Judging Begins (Ballots Emailed)
February 27, 2013: Drama Performer Pre-Nominations Announced
March 27, 2013: Blue Ribbon Judging Begins
April 22, 2013: Blue Ribbon Judging Ends
May 1, 2013: Nominations Announced
KEY CHANGES
PERFORMER PRE-NOMINATION ROUND:
Entrants can now submit a single-scene clip of up to 3 minutes. Submissions will be prescreened to ensure they don’t exceed this time limit.
NEW APPROACHES:
The New Approaches categories have been revised. One category will be for material that enhances and supports existing broadcast programming and the second category will be for original new product. Both categories encompass all Daytime genres. They are:
NEW APPROACHES – ENHANCEMENT TO A DAYTIME PROGRAM OR SERIES (Category 10) and
NEW APPROACHES – ORIGINAL DAYTIME PROGRAM OR SERIES (Category 11).
SOUND EDITING:
In the Sound Editing categories (Categories 62 and 72), Foley Artists are now eligible.
