LAST RESORT, 666 PARK AVENUE Canceled By ABC

Freshman dramas LAST RESORT and 666 PARK AVENUE will not move forward at ABC, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The network has opted to cancel both series, despite picking up two additional scripts for each. The two show will get to air all 13 episodes in their original order in their respective time slots.

ABC had hoped that the series' soapy undertones would prove a strong fit with last year's breakout hit REVENGE, but the dramas failed deliver either the buzz or the viewership. The network has not yet determined what will air in either series' place, as the network has not yet announced its mid-season lineup.

NASHVILLE was recently picked up for a full season along with sophomore drama SCANDAL.

666 PARK AVENUE stars Rachael Taylor (GREY'S ANATOMY) as Jane Van Veen, Dave Annable (BROTHERS & SISTERS) as Henry Martin, Mercedes Masšhn (CHUCK) as Louise Leonard, Robert Buckley (LIPSTICK JUNGLE) as Brian Leonard, Helena Mattsson (NIKITA) as Alexis Blume, Erik Palladino (ER) as Tony DeMeo and Samantha Logan as Nona Clark, with Vanessa Williams (UGLY BETTY) as Olivia Doran and Terry O'Quinn (LOST) as Gavin Doran.

LAST RESORT stars Andre Braugher as Captain Marcus Chaplin, Scott Speedman as XO Sam Kendal, Daisy Betts as Lieutenant Grace Shepard, Dichen Lachman as Tani Tumrenjack, Daniel Lissing as SEAL Officer James King, Sahr Ngaujah as Mayor Julian Serrat, Camille de Pazzis as Sophie Gerard, Autumn Reeser as Kylie Sinclair, Jessy Schram as Christine Kendal, and Robert Patrick as Master Chief Joseph Prosser.

  1. ABC does it AGAIN....takes off good shows. Who decides this? They are ridiculous....I depise ABC! First they take off the soaps, then some evening shows that were fantastic and now another....

  2. I don't know why I am surprised that people do not understand how these choices are made. They don't get the ratings to cover their budgets. You really can't expect a network to pour money into them and not get anything back.

  3. 666 Park Avenue has been horrible so far. Nothing original if you've seen The Twilight Zone. Too many loopholes, too much bad acting.

  4. I'm not surprised by either cancellation. I tried watching "666" but gave up after three episodes. I personally just don't enjoy "creepy" shows. I have been watching every episode of "Last Resort" but the story is so convoluted that my husband and I just look at each other sometimes and wonder where in the hell "that" came from. It's hard to keep everything straight.

I DO like all the lead actors in both shows, so I feel bad for them. Hope they all turn up in something else soon!

  5. I’m not surprised that 666 Park Avenue is canceled. A friend I work with at DISH mentioned its low ratings to me, so I figured it was just a matter of time. I am disappointed, though. I enjoyed the show, and watched it every week on my DISH Hopper. It’s set to auto-record 666 Park Avenue along with the other big four prime time network shows using Primetime Anytime, so I never had to worry about missing an episode even if I forgot to set a timer. I plan to watch the last few episodes, too; hopefully they’ll answer some lingering questions before the series ends.
