NEWS ROUNDUP: John Ingle Memorial; Bregman & Goddard on New Y&R; Ronn Moss Says 'It Was Time To Move On'; Political Ads

Y&R's Tracey E. Bregman and Daniel Goddard confident with behind-the-scenes changes and a return to character-driven storylines
"I don’t think there’s a single person there that doesn’t feel that we are moving in a very positive direction," said Goddard. "[Josh Griffith, head writer] understands how to write for all the demographics and all the characters. The thing about Josh that’s a great asset to the show is that he’s married to the love of his life and has two beautiful daughters. As a man, he understands what women want versus someone who is kind of cut off from the real world and is trying to forge stories based upon what they think the world likes to see."

"He understands the history of our show," Bregman added.

Ronn Moss: Turning 60 is weird
"Becoming 'Ridge' was cool, Moss said of his longtime BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL character. "The role was tailor-made for me. I felt it as soon as I walked in to the audition. I didn't expect it to be such a big hit. I thought all we were doing was a little TV show that would last a couple of years, at best."

"After 25 years on THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL, it was time to move on. It was a great run but, for most of that time, I wasn't able to do anything else. At a certain point, I realized I was spending more time in that big-ass studio than with my wife and kids. In fact, I was spending more time driving to and from work than with my family. I want to enjoy life more."
