GENERAL HOSPITAL Ratings: 2.3/8 Through Wednesday In New Timeslot; KATIE Losing Viewers

TV Media Insights is reporting great news for GENERAL HOSPITAL in its new timeslot:

In the midst of the new syndicated daytime talk show premieres was the relocation of veteran ABC serialized drama General Hospital to 2 p.m. ET. Based on the 56-metered (overnight) markets, General Hospital is averaging a 2.3 rating/8 share in households this week (through Wednesday). And that, comparably, is up by 15 percent from the lead-in average (2.0/ 6) and 10 percent from One Life to Live in September 2011. Results among key women 25-54 (1.8/11) have increased by a hefty 80 percent from the lead-in (1.0/ 7) and 20 percent from One Life to Live in September 2011.

GENERAL HOSPITAL moved to 2 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT in most markets on Monday, September 10.

Meanwhile, the news for KATIE is not as good, according to Deadline:

In its fourth airing on Thursday, Katie Couric’s new syndicated talk show dropped 26% in households to a 1.7/5 in the metered markets and 38% to a 0.8/5 in the key Women 25-54 demographic. In households, Katie still finished first among the freshman daytime talk shows but by a smaller margin.

In four days, Katie has shed 39% in households and 50% in W 25-54 from its big premiere numbers. What is more alarming is that the show has fallen below the time period average last season (2.3/7 HH, 1.4/8 in W25-54), when a large number of stations carried General Hospital.

  1. Yeaaah,so happy that Katie's show is dropping, never have watched it and never will👎🎶🎶

  2. Soon,tv will have one less talk show *GOOD!*

  3. Not that anyone with power to fix this, here goes; It was awful that abc took family members away that so many people watched everyday and for years. That's what these soaps had become to regular viewers. It's like visiting with family members everyday, and for years. Great that other shows are bombing. And, if abc ever cancels GH, I will cancel ABC.
