DALLAS made a triumphant return to the United Kingdom last night, premiering with nearly 3 million viewers on Channel 5.
Airing at 9 p.m., the premiere episode pulled in 2.77 million viewers (12.4%) plus 183,000 (1.2%) for a repeat airing later, placing the show among Channel 5's best-rated United States imports of all time. The figure nearly doubled the broadcaster's average audience share in the same slot over the past three months.
Meanwhile, Monday night’s premiere on Ireland's TV3 had an average of 466,000 people watching with an audience share of 36.7 per cent of adults aged 15-44. DALLAS is the highest rated debut of any drama series ever on TV3. The audience peaked at 518,200, while a total of 842,500 people tuned in at some point.
In DALLAS Season Two news, Mitch Pileggi has been upped to series regular status. He plays Brenda Strong’s ex-husband, Harris Ryland.
