Daytime TV Ratings Week of May 21-25, 2012: THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS & GENERAL HOSPITAL Up In Total Viewers

The daytime Nielsen ratings are in for the week of May 21-25, 2012. THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS and GENERAL HOSPITAL rose in total viewers compared to last week, while GH and THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL were up in Women 18-49 viewers. The four ABC, CBS and NBC daytime soaps each had a 0.5 Women 18-34 rating.

1. THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS 4,288,000 (+33,000/-359,000)
2. THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL 3,078,000 (-4,000/+246,000)
3. GENERAL HOSPITAL 2,368,000 (+29,000/-80,000)
4. DAYS OF OUR LIVES 2,294,000 (-64,000/-47,000)

From CBS:
THE TALK, CBS's daytime talk show, delivered impressive growth both nationally and on the CBS Owned Stations during the recently completed May sweep. Nationally during May, THE TALK averaged 2.27 million viewers and 1.1/06 among women 25-54, up +11% in both measures compared to last May.

On the 14 CBS Owned Stations, THE TALK posted growth of +29% among women 25-54 (0.9 from 0.7) versus last May.

Nearly all of the CBS Owned Stations saw year-to-year growth among women 25-54: WCBS, New York, up +22%; KCBS, Los Angeles, up +33%; WBBM, Chicago, up +50%; KYW, Philadelphia, up +100%; KTVT, Dallas, up +140%; WWJ, Detroit, up +50%; KDKA, Pittsburgh, up +50%; and WJZ, Baltimore, up +43%.

Additionally, THE TALK ranked first in its time period among women 25-54 in New York, Philadelphia, Dallas, Minneapolis, Pittsburgh and Baltimore.

  2. The only reason The Talk has increased numbers is because NOBODY is watching that other dumb show, THE REVOLUTION, which is aired at the same time on a different network. Wait until General Hospital moves to the same hour slot as The Talk and they will be talked out and over by General Hospital. Can't wait to see the numbers at this time next year. The Talk will be cancelled and those non-stop women can shut up talking about irrelevant nonsense! Yay!!
