NEWS ROUNDUP: Glamour Praises DAYS, Pay-TV Cost On Rise, Jeff Tracta, Sarah Glendening, Francophrenia

Glamour: Why All of a Sudden, We Can't Stop Watching Days Of Our Lives (Again).
Glamour magazine kicked off its DAYS OF OUR LIVES coverage on Monday: "You're going to see super fun videos brought to you by the hottest stars on the show (just you wait until you see what Patrick Muldoon, Galen Gering, Molly Burnett and Casey Jon Deidrick are up to), but for now, I want to focus on the storyline that, in my opinion, has never been done better--not on primetime, daytime, or in feature films."

5 Ways DAYS OF OUR LIVES Got the "Will Horton is Gay" Storyline Right:
1) Chandler Massey
2) Deidre Hall
3) The writing
4) The humor
5) The Supporting Cast

EDITOR'S NOTE: This story came out a few days after DAYS fired its head writers and on the same day four cast members were let go.

Average monthly pay-TV bill to hit $200 by 2020
Household incomes in the country have stagnated in recent years, but cable, satellite and telco bills have not. The monthly rates for pay-TV have jumped an average of 6 percent per year, the firm finds.

"The increase sounds slight, but it's really not," Russ Crupnick, an entertainment industry analyst at The NPD Group, told TheWrap." Consumers are going to have to decide when they get that bill for $100 or $200 if cable can be one of their most valuable entertainment expenses going forward."

If rates continue to climb at that pace, The NPD Group predicts that the average monthly pay-TV bill will reach $123 by 2015, up from $86 last year.

TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL: “Francophrenia” (or: Don’t Kill Me, I Know Where the Baby Is)
"From the start, the viewer follows Franco’s usual routine. He arrives on set, gets prepared by makeup artists, signs autographs for fans, waits around for his scene and finally acts out his part according to the director’s demands. By adding a subjective internal monologue (spoken by Olds playing the voice of Franco), the film tricks us into believing that we have access to Franco’s most intimate thoughts."
