THE REVOLUTION Still Paying $30 For Audience Members; Now "Untitled" With Expanded Age Range

We Love Soaps revealed earlier this month scoop about THE REVOLUTION's struggle to find people to attend a taping of the show. Not only is the show a disaster in the ratings, they advertised on a casting website a notice for "upscale" audience members who could earn $30 for being there in person. This week the show seemed even more desperate in a new plea for an audience. Instead of labeling themselves as "The Revolution" the casting notice read "Untitled Network Talk Show (NY)". You'll notice the age rage has been expanded as well.

THE REVOLUTION premiered with an average of 1.68 million viewers its first week, fell to 1.53 in its second and a paltry 1.44 in the third. It is well documented that ABC is happy to have fewer viewers on THE CHEW and THE REVOLUTION due to a lower production cost. But while THE CHEW has grown to a profitable level in the Nielsen ratings, THE REVOLUTION has to be considered a huge failure at this point.

  1. They can't even spell the word 'paid' correctly (payed)

And won't give the title of their show?

    How P - A - T - H - E - T - I - C

    can they get?

  2. Is this a common practice? Sounds so desperate ... and pathetic as Grover said!

  3. puerto rico? How odd!

I really feel sorry for Tim and Ty that they are ruining their Reps by associating with this show.

  4. Benjamin, I've heard of game shows or cable talk shows paying audiences but I've never seen an advertisement for a broadcast network talk show like this, especially in New York. Seat fillers are common on shows where you are working with an audience company and attend one of those tapings, but THE REV has been heavily hyped and the city is full of tourists and no one seems interested in going, even if paid.

  5. You know what sticks out to be as the most important line in that casting notice (even moreso than not naming the show and expanding the ages)? The last sentence about not bailing at the last minute. They wouldn't have written that if it wasn't a major problem...SO FOLKS, WE'VE FOUND A MAJOR POINT OF VULNERABILITY THAT WE SHOULD TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE OF!

I strongly suggest any soap fans in the area answer the casting notice...and then don't show up to the tapings! Leave the show desperate with the large number of empty seats they can't fill.

  6. And now, if that wasn't bad enough, they have had to resort to not even naming the show in hopes of getting someone to actually show up.

  7. This is in respone to d.w. mckim...
The idea is brilliant! In fact, this very same idea played out in a classic episode of 'I Love Lucy.'
After Lucy got fired from the Tropicana, she, with the help of Ethel and Fred, called the nightclub, asking for reservations to the club's new headlining act...they then went in a series of costumes, to the nightclub, and all of them left in a huff when Ricky Ricardo was not appearing...leaving them completely empty of audience members!
