Here's a look at the preliminary Nielsen ratings for Wednesday, December 7, 2011:

- REVENGE was up over 14% with a 2.4 Adults 18-49 on an audience of about 7.3 million.

- Compared to repeats of MODERN FAMILY and COUGAR TOWN (in the same ABC time slot one year ago), REVENGE was up 50%.

- AMERICAN HORROR STORY was down about 6% with a 1.6 Adults 18-49 rating on an audience of over 2.5 million viewers.

- Fox’s I HATE MY NEW TEENAGE DAUGHTER (starring Eric Sheffer Stevens) fell 25% from last week’s premiere. The show had 5.4 million viewers with a 2.1 adults 18-49 rating.

Some notes from ABC on REVENGE's performance, ahead of the official press release:
- From 10-11pm, ABC freshman drama Revenge ran in a near tie for first place in its hour among Adults 18-49 with CBS’ veteran CSI (pacing within 1-tenth of a rating point), while ranking #1 in the hour with Adults 18-34 and across all key Women (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54).

- ABC’s Revenge marked a 5-week high with Women 18-34.

- On average this season, Revenge is delivering huge year-over-year improvement for ABC during Wednesday’s 10 o’clock hour, boosting the time slot by 91% in Total Viewers and by 143% in Adults 18-49 over original drama series programming during the same weeks last year. In fact, Revenge is ABC’s top series in the hour in over 4 years with viewers and young adults – since Lost during the 2006-07 TV Season.

  1. Revenge is the best show to come along in years--and--it is Dynasty's old time slot..
