Republicans vs. Democrats TV Survey: GENERAL HOSPITAL Least Favorite Of Conservatives

Entertainment Weekly released the results of a survey Tuesday that compares the viewing habits of Democrats and Republicans. The study, conducted by Experian-Simmons exclusively for the magazine, revealed some interesting likes and dislikes for the people on left and right of the poltical spectrum.

Among the Conservative Republicans least favorite shows was ABC's daytime soap opera GENERAL HOSPITAL. Other least favorites included THE WALKING DEAD, WEEDS and DEXTER.

Liberal Democrats least favorites included THE SECRET LIFE AMERICAN TEENAGER (also disliked by Republicans), THE PRICE IS RIGHT and SWAMP LOGGERS.

As for the favorites, Conservative Republicans love SWAMP LOGGERS, THE BACHELOR, CASTLE and NCIS, among others.

Liberal Democrats favorites include THE DAILY SHOW, PARKS & RECREATION, GLEE, PARENTHOOD and SHAMELESS.

Some interesting patterns emerged from the study — Republicans, according to EW’s James Hibberd, “gravitate toward broadcast reality competition shows.” Experian-Simmons senior marketing manager John Fetto also explains that, “literate media-savvy comedies score high among Dems.”

The entire list of programs, along with party affiliations, can be found here.
