NOMINATIONS: People's Choice Awards 2012; GLEE, VAMPIRE DIARIES Lead All Shows

CBS announced the nominees for the 2012 People's Choice Awards on Tuesday. Primetime soaps were well represented this year.

GLEE did predictably well with seven nominations. The show scored a nod for Favorite Comedy, and Cory Monteith, Chris Colfer, Lea Michele and Jane Lynch are all in the running for acting honors.

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES didn't go unnoticed either with four: Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder both snagged nominations for acting honors, and the show itself scored a spot in the running for Favorite TV Drama.

Prospect Park's ROYAL PAINS was nominated as Favorite Cable TV Comedy.
