SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE Spoofs ALL MY CHILDREN Wrap Party

ALL MY CHILDREN was parodied on last night's season premiere of SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE, hosted by former soap star Alec Baldwin. Sketch Description: After 41 years, the cast and crew of ALL MY CHILDREN shut down the soap opera the only way it knows how.

Watch it below and let us know what you think.

  1. The skit wasn't funny or clever. Maybe if the sketch writers actually took the time to watch at least an episode or two of AMC in order to make fun of actual characters and/or plot points, the sketch would have been funny. Instead it was just over-the-top campy. I'm kind of surprised there was no Cameron Mathison (or Rebecca Budig) spoof(s), either. Those two are "known" outside of daytime, for sure. Back when SNL did the AMC spoof "All My Luggage", they seemed to hit all of the right notes, and that sketch was actually funny. If I'm not mistaken, Phil Hartman was actually spoofing Walt Wiley's Jackson, right? We needed that kind of "inspiration" in order for this sketch to be mildly funny. Thanks!

  2. Lame. I guess NBC can afford to poke fun at ABC's mistake. But if any show should go off the air for bad writing, Saturday Night Live would have been history 20 years ago.

  3. SAD BUT TRUE! It would have been nice to include an AMC-cameo (Hello, Susan Lucci? She could have played herself!), but should be viewed not as cruel...rather insightful, ironic commentary on how Frons & Co have allowed the genre to become a dead horse. Come on...whoever wrote the sketch--with all the "behind the scenes" refs--has an obvious insider's knowledge AND disdain for how it's been allowed to deteriorate!

  4. ehh, it was "okay". It was funny how they said things like "I'm in a coma" and "I have amnesia", etc. But spoofing the staff/producers/whoever instead of the actors? B-o-r-i-n-g

  5. You can definitely tell that the writers of this skit never watched AMC.It's a shame. This was not funny, I found it very boring. Maybe you need some new writers???? If not, your show will be the next to go bye-bye!

  6. All of the above except it wasn't funny one bit...could have been but you can tell there was no effort put in....I'm sure there are good writers out there who would love to have a job...get rid of the lazy group who think they are oh so funny but not.
