WATCH: Premiere of HUSBANDS: The Series

If you read our Indie Soap Fall Preview Guide, you were probably looking forward to the premiere of HUSBANDS: The Series. Well, the wait is over. From executive producer Jane Espenson (BUFFY; TORCHWOOD; GAME OF THRONES) and director Jeff Greenstein (FRIENDS, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES) comes the first ever marriage equality comedy. Watch it below.

“I’m so excited about this project!” says Espenson. “It was a matter of having the right people and the right premise and the means to create this on our own… It was irresistible. I’m so proud of how it has turned out. This is the right time for Husbands, and I just couldn’t wait. Making it for the web allowed us to make it right now.”

The husbands are Cheeks and Brady. Cheeks is an outrageous, and very out, actor, who lives to push the envelope. How will his fans react when he becomes a settled married man? Brady Kelly is a professional baseball player whose fans are still adjusting to him being gay. Being gay and married–to someone named Cheeks – that’s going to require even more adjustment.

Let us know what you think of HUSBANDS. And come back on Saturday to vote for your favorite web series in our Indie Soap of the Week poll.

  8. Very funny. Glad to see someone is not afraid to suggest that marriage equality might lead to some not-serious unions. If Britney can do it, why can't we?

  9. I watched for the first time and it was funny and amusing entertainment. I personally think it would get alittle old after a while, just wasn't my kind of web series.
