SWITCHED AT BIRTH Secrets: Who is Pandora?

Pandora's Box” is the title of this week's SWITCHED AT BIRTH—and we can't think of a better name for such a secret-filled episode!

Here's a synopsis: As Bay and Emmett's relationship continues to get more serious, Regina comes clean about the secret she's been hiding from everyone. John asks Regina what the hospital board might know about her that could potentially destroy their chances of winning a settlement.

Regina begs Daphne not to tell the Kennishes what she found in the guitar case, but after the board reveals what they know about Regina, she is forced to come clean and divulge a heart-breaking revelation to both families.

We think the famous painting (shown) referenced in the episode title is probably Pandora's Box by Paul Césaire Gariot , a french artist who painted it in 1877.

In Greek myth, Pandora was the first woman, created by Zeus to punish men after Prometheus had given them fire. Pandora, whose name in Greek means "all gifts," carried a box that she was not allowed to open, as it contained the evils and diseases previously unknown to mankind.
Unable to resist her curiosity, however, she did open the jar, and these disasters escaped, bringing an end to the legendary Golden Age. Only Hope remained in the jar as a consolation for mortals.
How do you think this relates to tonight's SWITCHED? And maybe more importantly—which character do you think is Pandora? Tell us your ideas in the comments section, below!
And finally... here's a sneak peek at the masterpiece that we think goes with episode 10, “The Homecoming.”

Tell us what you think!

  1. Last week's episode threw me for a loop. Regina knew about Bay the whole time? I think the painting has to do with that twist.

  2. The guitar case was a Pandora's box.

  3. I think that makes Regina "Pandora" then. What a gut-wrenching episode!

  4. no way that makes Daphne, Pandora because she was the one who actually opened the guitar case and let all the drama out. Pandora is also typically portrayed as fair skinned and blonde or a red head, sounds a little like Katie Lecleric if you ask me.
