NAACP Image Awards Telecast Will Feature Daytime Drama Cateogries

This year marks the first time the NAACP Image Awards will honor its TV Daytime Drama categories live on the annual award ceremony. The star-studded event will be broadcast on Friday, March 4, 2011, (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX. The newly added broadcast categories will highlight the outstanding work of some of daytime’s most popular actors.

This year’s daytime television nominees include:

Outstanding Actor in a Daytime Drama Series
Aaron D. Spears, THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL
Cornelius Smith, Jr. ALL MY CHILDREN
Darnell Williams, ALL MY CHILDREN
Rodney Saulsberry, THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL

Outstanding Actress in a Daytime Drama Series
Debbi Morgan, ALL MY CHILDREN
Julia Pace Mitchell, THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS
Tatyana Ali, THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS
Tonya Lee Williams, THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS
Yvette Freeman, THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL

  1. It's a shame that only 4 of the actors nominated actually did substantial work. Most of the nominees had short recurring roles.

    Why isn't Christel Khalil listed? She had the most airtime of any African-American actor on Y&R.
