PRE-NOMINATIONS: 38th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) in cooperation with the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (ATAS), today announced the Drama Performer Pre-Nominations for the 38th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy® Awards.

A preliminary Daytime drama performer ballot, containing each of the six performer categories, was assigned to registered, eligible peer voters. This ballot contained the full list of all entrants submitted from each show and each voter was entitled to select as many candidates as they believed worthy of Emmy® consideration. The candidates below, who received the highest number of votes for each show in each category, now advance to the final at-home screening round, due to be conducted in March and April, 2011, which will determine both nominees and winners.

  1. Nadia Bjorlin over Suzanne Rogers?

Gina Tognoni is a good actress but she didn't deserve it over Florencia Lozano.

LeBlanc and Bergman over Braeden again?

This is why the Daytime Emmys get no respect. The best performers are not nominated.

  2. Florenzia being shut out is one of the MANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNY reasons the Daytime Emmys are a farce. Gina Tognoni as lead actress? If she thinks that's appropriate, I'd cast her in a revival of Sunset Boulevard as the delusiounal Norma Desmond.Half of the younger actersses AND Hilary Bailey Smith had twice the on air scenes than poor Tognoni. Well Geen, don't worry about picking out the right gown for the big event.

  3. So for these pre-nominations does the Academy assume that all voters watch all of the shows and know which actor or actress has had a good year? Without being able to submit a tape for consideration until after this process it seems that the same old names just get recycled each year.
