NOMINATIONS: 42nd NAACP Image Awards

The NAACP Image Awards is the nation's premier event celebrating the outstanding achievements and performances of people of color in the arts (television, recording, literature, motion picture and writing & directing), as well as those individuals or groups who promote social justice through their creative endeavors. The nominees for this year's awards have been announced. See the list below.

  2. Um, why are so many of these nominees day players and not contract players?

    Where are the actresses who portray Destiny on OLTL, Maya on GH, Lexie on Days, Dayzee on B&B, or Lily on Y&R not nominated? These are all actresses who have done substantial work on their shows.

    Good grief, the guy who played Anthony the homeless man for 2 days on B&B gets a nomination?

    Do any of the people who created these nominations even watch soap operas? Where's Sean Ringold of OLTL or the guy who plays his father or Terrell Tilford? All three did more meaningful work.

    I'm shocked by the oversights of several contract or established recurring actors missing from this list.
