EXCLUSIVE: George Reinholt Responds To Jacqueline Courtney's Passing

George Reinholt played "Steve" on ANOTHER WORLD opposite Jacqueline Courtney's "Alice" from 1968-1975.  Their pairing was extremely popular is considered by many historians to be one of daytime's first "supercouples." He played opposite Courtney again on ONE LIFE TO LIVE from 1975-1977.  Earlier today he shared his feelings of Courtney's tragic passing with We Love Soaps TV:

I am shocked and very upset and disturbed. I know death comes to us all but I think she died too young. Much too young. I loved her. Truly. She was wonderful to work with. And I think of her often.

  1. Steve and Alice were the reason I started watching soaps. I am so saddened by this. She was a beautiful woman and did not deserve to be treated as she was at the end on "Another World."

  2. I was also a huge Steve and Alice fan. I feel so sad for George. BTW, in the old clips of the reunion scenes between Steve and Alice, I find it rather hard to buy Paul Rauch's claim that Jacquie wrote her lines on the cuffs of her dresses-there wouldn't have been room for the pages of dialog she recited so flawlessly.

  3. I read Harding Lemays book, "Eight Years in Another World". He was a bitter, egocentric, frustrated writer who always seemed to have an axe to grind. It comes through loud and clear, very loud and clear in this book. He felt he was so above writing for a soap opera, he loved the $$$ which he conveys is why he put up with working on the show. Gee.........what did he write for after.........ha ha.
