WE LOVE SOAPS TV 2.09 DAYS in Times Square

On Episode 2.09 of WE LOVE SOAPS TV, Roger Newcomb travels to Times Square in New York City to watch the DAYS OF OUR LIVES 45th anniversary video on the Sony Jumbotron and to talk to people passing by to get reaction and thoughts on the show.

Roger Newcomb is a producer and writer in New York City. Aside from co-hosting WE LOVE SOAPS TV, he has written and produced a full-length indie film, Manhattanites, and two radio soap operas, SCRIPTS & SCRUPLES and ROCKLAND COUNTY. He has also made acting appearances in indie web series IMAGINARY BITCHES and EMPIRE. He has consulted on numerous indie soaps and is currently an associate producer on THE BAY.

  2. Well, the 45th pro mo looks good. Liked the glimpse of the whole cast dressed up posing for cast photo. Hope to see that more somewhere.

    Not sure what the point of the 'man in the street' interviews. Yes, we all know soaps are not as popular as they were in the 80's and if you grab random folks in Times Square odds are they don't watch the show. I fail to see how this is funny. Especially when you pick immigrant males, or young men. Really? It that even any soaps demo? The one person that seemed to know the show and thought the promo was 'great' got 2 seconds.

    It is something to mark the 45th anniversary. I'm appreciating all the things we're getting this year-even a cast photo.

  3. I for one found this brilliant and hilarious. It is relevant to Times Square because NBC paid major $$ to run their DAYS promo several times that day. I am always fascinated and curious about whether people outside of the American soap world know and care about soaps. GOOD JOB ROGER!
