Since departing the unfortunately canceled long-running daytime drama, AS THE WORLD TURNS, Jake Silbermann, much remembered for his portrayal of Noah Mayer, Luke's first love, has been busy. He can now add one more thing to his resume - film festival winner! Stuffer, a short film that Silbermann wrote, produced and co-starred in (directed by Nathan Crooker), not only had its World Premiere at the 2010 Royal Flush Festival in Brooklyn, NY, but also took home the "Skullie" Award for Best Short Film.

Silbermann appeared for the screening on Sunday night, October 17, at the Knitting Factory with his mom, where he answered a few questions from the audience during a Q&A.

Stuffer follows Vasquez, a female officer returning home to her husband and daughter from the front lines of Afghanistan...with a secret. The secret is that Vasquez has been drawn into smuggling heroin for a local ex-military operative (played by Silbermann as you've never seen him before in a raw and edgy performance) in order to save her family's home from foreclosure.

The film is quite graphically intense, and stomach-turning at times.

Silbermann and the rest of the filmmakers whose short films screened that evening received a rousing round of applause.
