FALCON CREST: Then Versus Now

Cast members of the 1981-90 CBS primetime soap opera FALCON CREST and creator Earl Hamner Jr. reunited on Tuesday for a special event, "FALCON CREST: A Look Back," with a panel discussion at the Paley Center For Media in Beverly Hills.

Cast members in attendance were Abby Dalton, Susan Sullivan, Margaret Ladd, Jamie Rose, Ana Alicia, Robert Foxworth, Lorenzo Lamas, William R. Moses and David Selby.

Hamner Jr.'s son Scott is co-head writer for THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS and also wrote for FALCON CREST for a while.

Of course things just aren't the same without the incomparable Jane Wyman, who passed away in September 2007.

  1. Thanks for sharing! I remember watching this as a kid and thinking Angela was pure evil. Also, hated how Maggie died after finally finding happiness with Richard.

  2. How fun. I wish I'd known that was going on. I used to love that show and would have LOVED going to that reunion.

  3. I live just twenty minutes away from Walton's Mountain and my grandmother visited with his mother, so I am very attached to anything that Mr. Hamner has put forth. It is amazing how the same mind came up with two such distinctly separate television classics.

Considering Earl Hamner's phenomenally successful track record, one wonders why the networks have not clamored for "just one more" from him.

  4. Anyone have details of what was discussed?

I am re-watching Season 1 on Hulu as we speak. Stayed up until 4am last night watching episodes 3&4. FC was so well done and the cast, story and locations were especially brilliant in Season 1.

Would love to hear any details or behind-the-scenes anecdotes from the Paley reunion.
