HOT STORIES: AS THE WORLD TURNS, A Real Train Wreck

If you read spoilers or watch preview videos you knew it was coming, but Friday was the day it happened on AS THE WORLD TURNS. Dr. Reid Oliver became stranded on some railroad tracks on the way to Bay City as a train quickly approached. After dealing with the death of Nancy this week, it looks like next week will be full of more heartache (for those who try to remain spoiler free, the show tends to spoil any cliffhanger in the previews anyway so it must be tough). Watch today's developments below. There are only eight episodes remaining.

  1. I actually watched the show today and the pacing was just about the worst thing I have ever seen my decades of soap-viewing. This was Ellen Wheeler-inspired, nonsensical, lightening speed insanity. On some level, we longtime fans have to be grateful for the good years and let go of our old friend now before it's a GL-esque debacle.

This will make me cry today & I'll continue crying all into next week!

  3. Absolutely loved today's episode. The performances this week have been pretty incredibly, especially Kathryn Hays work yesterday (evoking memories of M'Lynn's breakdown in Steel Magnolias). Just love Eric Sheffer Stevens! My heart broke seeing today's closing scene.

  5. It was wonderful that the 2002-2007 golden revolving globe theme was inserted into this episode. However, the video director should've removed Pinter from Colleen Zenk's name & should've spelled Terri's last name Colombino in the cleverly designed closing credits. Otherwise, it's wonderful work with these video clips! :-)

  6. ATWT has been non-stop classic soap story telling the last few weeks. I applaud EP Chris Goutman for keeping the show at as high a quality as possible and from sliding to what Guiding Light became years before it ended. though heartbreaking, we ATWT fans should consider ourselves lucky that we are seeing such care in wrapping up the series finale.
