NOMINATIONS: Primetime Emmy Awards

GLEE lead the way with 19 nominations as Sofia Vergara and Joel McHale took the stage with Television Academy chairman/CEO John Shaffner this morning in L.A. to announce the Primetime Emmy nominations. In an amazing surprise, Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton, who play the most realistic married couple in television history, were finally honored with nominations for their brilliant work on FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS. The show was snubbed in the Drama Series category again but did get four total noms including for writing.

Other nominations include Mike O'Malley (guest) and Chris Colfer (supporting) and as father and son, Burt and Kurt Hummel on GLEE. Jane Lynch was recognized as expected. Betty White was nominated as Best Guest Actress in a Comedy for her SNL hosting gig. Despite a fan campaign, Zach Gilford's wonderful season on FNL was overlooked.
