NEWS: NEIGHBOURS, Hoff, Marsh, PRETTY, Newfront

Execs mood improving at this year's Digital Content Newfront
The third annual Digital Content Newfront was held Wednesday in New York. Unlike last year’s event, where the mood was bleak, this year enthusiasm was high, the room was packed, and the star power was off the charts. Despite a still uncertain ad market and a lack of consistent viewership, talent and dollars continue to pour into original Web video entertainment. What’s still uncertain is whether advertisers are ready to reinvest in the once hot space.

Episode 6000 and NEIGHBOURS puts on a special occasion
Donna's wedding to boyfriend Ringo this week will mark the soap's 6000th episode, and will air later this year.

Hasselhoff set for Comedy Central roast
"I'm honored that Comedy Central is going to get 'Hoff' on me," Hasselhoff (Snapper, THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS) said in a statement Wednesday. "I have always been a major fan of roasts, dating back to the days of the DEAN MARTIN CELEBRITY ROASTS. Laughter is the best medicine. Bring it on! I'm ready to take the heat."

CORRIE's Kym Marsh postpones her wedding to Jamie Lomas
Marsh has cancelled her December wedding to HOLLYOAKS actor Lomas citing conflicting work commitments. The pair were due to walk down the aisle at the end of the year, however the wedding would have clashed with CORONATION STREET's 50th anniversary, and the stress of preparing for the big day and working long hours at CORRIE, didn’t appeal to the former Hearsay singer and so the date will now be moved.

EASTENDERS to revisit Archie, Ronnie secret
In the BBC soap's live instalment earlier this year, viewers learned that Ronnie (Samantha Womack) had been raped by Archie (Larry Lamb) when she was a teenager. The dark secret emerged as Ronnie had a heated argument with Simons's character Roxy. Although the storyline has been put on the backburner since the revelation, viewers can expect it to be brought back to the forefront in the weeks to come.

PRETTY LITTLE LIARS opens strong on ABC Family
PRETTY drew 2.5 million viewers, which is below the debut of THE SECRET LIFE OF THE AMERICAN TEENAGER while matching the premiere of MAKE IT OR BREAK IT. Among adults 18-34, however, PRETTY was the network's most-watched launch yet among adults 18-34 and key female demos.

SECRET LIFE ratings good but down from last summer
Final viewership came in at 3.183 million viewers, according to Mediaweek, which is down 32.3% from last year’s 4.7 million average. Among the key adults 18-49 demographic, this year’s premiere was good for a 1.3 rating with 1.7 million demo viewers; last year’s premiere scored 2.1 million in that category. The show’s 1.9 rating and 1.3 million viewer count among women 18-49 compared to 1.6 million for last year’s episode.
