COMMENTS FROM THE PANEL:
Alan Carter: The moustache is the master. Braeden reminds me of a volcano...you dont know when he is going to erupt...lots of lava and heat?....or are you just going to get a lot of hot smoke and ash? Either way, worth watching.

Connie Passalacqua Hayman (Marlena De Lacroix): Everyone hates and fears Victor Newman, daytime's ultimate power guy on THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS. Braeden imbues his character with his own great intellect and sense of total commitment.

Roger Newcomb: Victor was scary when he first came onto THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS, but I quickly fell in love with the coupling of Victor and Nikki. Their chemistry is nearly unmatched and they are one of my all-time favorite soap couples. My sister down in Tennessee says Victor Newman is "the man" and I tend to agree. The writing has sometimes failed Braeden but he always brings intensity and passion to his scenes.

Nelson Aspen: Incredible storylines and backstage shenanigans aside, I admit to still getting a kick out of seeing Victor Newman in action. He doesn't display much diversity, but then again, I don't think he's asked/required to. Just having "the Dark Knight" lording over Genoa City is enough to keep my interested...even with all those moronic 20-somethings running around trying to ruin things!

  1. Kudos to The Mustache!
I knew old mumbles would make it into the top ten!

  2. Since childhood, Victor Newman has been my favorite soap character. Intimidating, but surprisingly warm and fiercely loyal towards his family and close (if few) friends. His all too rare screen time with Katherine is pure gold.

  3. He does more amazing acting with just his face and body language than other actors do with entire scripts...

I thought he'd be even higher on the list...he's number 3 on mine :)

  5. Always loved Victoe Newman. I have always thought of him as a great actor. It"s such a shame we don"t get the show over in Melbourne anymore. Wish it would come back on. Love Lynne xx

  6. Agree with you, Blake, love his time with Katherine, she is the only character who calls Victor on his behaviour. Pure Gold. And I enjoy his scenes with Sharon Case as well. It is sweet how much Victor likes Sharon as another daughter

Mine you he is great with his all female leads, especially Eileen Davidson and Melody Thomas Scott.

  7. I don'y particularly like EB - he's an extremely lazy actor at best.

My guesses for the top seven: Tony Geary, David Canary, Michael Zaslow, Peter Bergman, Justin Deas, Larry Bryggman, and Douglass Watson.

  8. My top 7 list exactly Zander. Except I put Deas at #3 and Bryggman at #4. Zaslow, Bergman and Watson round out my list.

Geary and Canary are a tossup. But anything less than one/two is impossible to fathom.
