NEWS: Larson, LeBlanc, Riegel, Sweeney, Hennesy

A Day With Scorsese on Shutter Island, by Jill Larson
Larson writes: "Manlio glanced at my face in the mirror and began smudging it with burnt umber makeup to accentuate all the signs of age I had been anxiously fending off and presto! he added ten haggard years! 'Well I guess this offers a little peek into my future,' I said in a feeble attempt at humor, but no one seemed to notice. They were all gathered around, completely absorbed in Manlio’s magic. And I was drawn back in with them as he painted a jagged red mark across my neck, then some glue to crinkle the skin and build out what would become the 'ropy' scar. Enhanced with dark reds and browns, some marks that suggested old stitches and I looked ready for Halloween."

Y&R star star Christian LeBlanc's art on display Saturday
On Saturday night, he'll be doing an artistic star turn on Julia Street, where a selection of his colorful pencil and ink children's book illustrations will go on display at Jean Bragg Gallery. LeBlanc said that since he's a self-taught artist, he remains a bit insecure about showing his work in public. "Any praise is lapped up like milk, " he said.

INTERVIEW: Y&R's Eden Riegel (Heather)
"I’ve played Bianca for 10 years now and it really hurt me when I felt like I didn’t know my character anymore. I’m a really emotional person and maybe I care too much, you know? I let my emotions get the best of me. It was really difficult to feel like I was losing sight of who Bianca is. She was getting lost in the shuffle. It just really hurts. There is a lot of hurt. Y&R is a blank slate and a fresh start and there’s so much potential."

Alison Sweeney's Tips For Staying Healthy
Sweeney says: "Keep veggies within reach, Opt for complex carbs, Know your weaknesses, Splurge on the real thing, Read labels."

INTERVIEW: GH's Carolyn Hennesy (Diane)
"[During the audition for COUGAR TOWN] I went in and there was a room full of, I would say, about 12 other women, and I walked in, I did it, and [creator] Bill Lawrence looked at me and went, 'Wow, you made it kind of angry, that’s great! Why haven’t I met you before?' And I said, 'I don’t know Bill, but I feel we both missed out.'"

CORRIE on stage
ITV have announced the entire 50 year CORONATION STREET back story will be condensed into a two-hour stage show launching at Lowry Theatre Salford in August before a nationwide tour. The stage show will chart the best of the 7000 episodes and give fans the opportunity to relive “favorite memories from the program – see the viaduct collapse, the coach crash and the tram run over Alan. See Frank capture Valerie, Tracy kill Charlie, Todd kiss Nick, and Gail marry Brian, Martin, Richard and Joe!”
