NEWS: Julianne Moore, Kish, Flood, White, Internet

Hundt: Internet Is the New Broadcasting and Cable
Former FCC Chairman Reed Hundt says that next week's unveiling of the broadband plan will essentially mark the Internet as the nation's new common medium, supplanting broadcasting and cable.

"While overwhelmingly -- roughly 90% -- of Americans receive their broadcast TV programming in most major markets through cable wires or satellite signals, there are still millions of Americans who receive TV through over-the-air antenna TV," the chairman said in announcing the spectrum reclamation proposal. " Broadcasters would be able to continue to serve their communities with free over-the-air local news, information, and entertainment; and they would be able to experiment [with] mobile TV. "

Sonny Flood: "I'll be sad to leave HOLLYOAKS"
The HOLLYOAKS star has spoken about his forthcoming departure from the soap for the first time. "I'm not leaving for the next few months. I spoke to the producer and we came to a mutual agreement. I will be very sad to leave and I've loved working with everyone. I've made so many friends over the last five years but it'll be nice to move on to pastures new and an exciting time."

Fans start "Don't Put Kish in the Closet" website
Unhappy ONE LIFE TO LIVE fans have started a website to show their support for the characters of Kyle and Fish, currently scheduled to be written out of the show in April.

More on Julianne Moore's April 5 appearance on AS THE WORLD TURNS
Kathryn Hays says, “We were very touched by Julianne’s willingness to come back. We all just hugged and kissed and hugged some more—it was a wonderful love fest! She could not have been warmer. It really touched my heart.” Don Hastings added that “Julianne went to each of us who’d worked with her way back when and said the nicest things any of us could hope to hear. I think her return to ATWT meant as much to her as it did to us.”

EDITOR'S NOTE: While AS THE WORLD TURNS was the biggest role at the time, the article incorrectly states Moore got her start there when, in fact, she actually appeared on EDGE OF NIGHT before ATWT.

Another Betty White gig: THE MIDDLE
The TV legend has signed on to guest star in the season finale of ABC’s THE MIDDLE. White will play a school librarian who confronts Brick about his failure to return numerous overdue books.

Betty White: The baddest octogenarian
Why is a woman who'd be justified in limiting her aspirations to kicking ass in mah-jongg instead one of Hollywood's most sought-after performers?

  1. RE: The Julianne Moore return. Can't wait for this! BUT, had to laugh that they are supposedly celebrating Kim and Bob's 25th anniversary. How could this be when the current actor playing Chris is now 40 (!) years old, and the character has been a doctor for several years.

  2. Rob, I thought the same thing. It has been 25 years, but Chris was born a year later so is he now 24? :)
